Hourly Positions

Support student achievement and make an impact...

Hourly applicant pools will be opened as the need for viable candidates requires. Hourly positions include but are not limited to Bus Drivers, Bus Aides, Custodial, Food Service, Maintenance and Warehouse.

Applicant Requirements

If you're ready to pursue one of these positions, you can create and complete an application online. An e-mail address is required to apply. Once your account has been created, you may return to update your application, add attachments, or view your application. Be sure to keep a record of your login and password information. All applicants must be US citizens or have a Work Visa or Work Permit.

Application Process:

There are two parts to the application process. First, complete the My Profile Section and second, review Job Listings and apply to any job(s) of interest. (Part 1: My Profile and Part 2: Job Listings to Apply).

Note: You may have more than one application if you apply for more than one vacant position. A separate application is needed for each position of interest. Update your Profile and Application as needed (i.e. once you receive WIN test results, upload a copy of the test scores to your profile)

Custodian

  • Must successfully meet WorkKeys/WIN requirement at the Bronze Level and provide scores to Human Resources at Operations.  Test not required if applicant has Associates/Bachelors degree or military experience; provide documentation.
  • Must be able to lift and move 35-50 pounds routinely

Plant Engineer

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Requires experience as Head Custodian and/or Groundskeeper or equivalent
  • Must successfully meet WorkKeys/WIN requirement.  WorkKeys/WIN Expectations:  Locating Information – 4, Applied Mathematics – 4, Reading for Information – 5.  Test not required if applicant has Associates/Bachelors degree or military experience; provide documentation.

Bus Driver

  • Must have a valid S.C. Driver’s License with no more than 4 points
  • Must pass Physical Assessment Test
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Must attend ALL required Bus Driver training and Professional Development
  • Must pass SC Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and CDL requirements.

Bus Aide

  • Must pass Physical Assessment Test
  • Must attend ALL required Bus Aide training and Professional Development
  • Special Ed Bus Aides must be able to address the needs of students with various handicapping conditions

Food Service (Cafeteria)

  • Must successfully meet WorkKeys/WIN requirement at the Bronze Level and provide scores to Human Resources at Operations.  Test not required if applicant has Associates/Bachelors degree or military experience; provide documentation.
  • Must be able to lift and move 35-50 pounds routinely
  • Continuous walking and standing

WIN/WorkKeys Information:

Effective July 2, 2018, Greenville County Schools will transition to using WIN Learning’s Ready to Work assessments as the state-sponsored career readiness training, assessment, and credentialing program. We will continue to accept WorkKeys scores in lieu of the WIN assessments for applicants who may have previously completed WorkKeys.

Online applications are considered active for six months. If not hired within six months of the application date, it is required to reapply online for further consideration.
