Office of General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel provides legal assistance and advice to the Board of Trustees, the superintendent, the administration, as well as faculty and staff regarding legal matters involving or affecting The School District of Greenville County.  The Office of General Counsel is committed to providing the highest quality legal services in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

The Office of General Counsel is responsible for reviewing and drafting board policies and administrative rules; responding to complaints filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Office of Civil Rights; reviewing contracts, leases, and other legal documents; handling litigation through direct representation or coordination of retained counsel; representing the District in personnel and special education hearings; providing legal opinions; and conducting legal training.  However, the Office of General Counsel is unable to provide legal services to individual employees regarding personal matters.
