Blue Ridge High School Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet Cameron Thames was honored at Freshman Orientation this week with the awarding of the AFJROTC Silver Valor Award. Cameron received the recognition after saving his father’s life by using CPR last spring.

The Silver Valor Award is presented to a cadet for a voluntary act of heroism and is the second highest AFJROTC medal available to cadets. Cameron’s Silver Valor award is the first to be awarded to a Blue Ridge High School AFJROTC cadet.
