Blythe Academy Selected as Palmetto’s Finest Awards FinalistBlythe Academy of Languages is one of nine schools selected as a finalist for the 2019 Palmetto’s Finest Awards. This selection comes after extensive evaluations by a committee of fellow educators and previous Palmetto’s Finest winners. The application process includes elements on student achievement, instructional programs, professional learning communities, and school culture.  The nine finalists are currently undergoing a second onsite evaluation before the winners are selected this spring.

Blythe Academy of Languages offers French and Spanish immersion programs in Kindergarten through fifth grade.  “I am so proud of our students, staff, parents and community for their hard work at Blythe Academy.  Everyone has contributed to the success of our school and we are honored to be considered for this award,” said Principal Dr. Sandra Griffin.

Each school will have the opportunity to celebrate with their local community.  The winners will be announced through a live stream to each finalist school at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

The South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) presents the awards each year to schools which offer the best in innovative, effective educational programs. The Palmetto’s Finest Award is celebrating its 41st year and is one of the most coveted and respected awards among educators.

“We are excited to recognize some of the outstanding and innovative schools in our state. They represent the many excellent school communities serving South Carolina’s families,” said Beth Phibbs, SCASA Executive Director.
