Greenville County Schools fourth through eighth graders scored significantly higher than the state average on SC PASS (South Carolina Palmetto Assessment of State Standards).   SC PASS tests students in science and social studies. Three performance levels are given: Not Met, Met, and Exemplary.

The percentage of GCS students scoring Met or Exemplary on SC PASS was higher than the percentage of SC students scoring Met or Exemplary at all grade levels for 2014, 2015, and 2016.
