Donation Helps New Career Center ProgramThe new Machine Tool Program at the Golden Strip Career Center in Mauldin has received a major gift.

The Gene Haas Foundation has awarded $5,000 in scholarships for CNC Machinist training. The foundation is committed to bridging the manufacturing skills gap by supporting local community programs for students.

This is the first semester for the Golden Strip Career Center’s Machine Tool program. The program is one of three in South Carolina to receive this award. This is the first year that a school in South Carolina has received this grant.

Mr. Gordon Eargle from the Haas Corporation was on hand to present the award to Steven McAbee, Machine Tool instructor, and JF Lucas, Director.
