Brenda Byrd, Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership – Elementary Schools Group 2

Mrs. Brenda Byrd received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University. Mrs. Byrd served as principal at Mitchell Road Elementary and Bethel Elementary for twelve years. She was recognized as the Greenville County Schools Administrator of the Year in 2013 and the South Carolina Elementary Principal of the Year in 2014. She was also named a National Distinguished Principal in 2014 in Washington, D.C. She has experience as both a teacher and administrator at the elementary and middle levels and currently serves as an Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership – Elementary.
