Register to take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)
Testing will be administered at Overbrook Child Development Center located at 111 Laurens Road, Greenville, SC. Students and parents should check in at the front of the school between 12:45-1:00 p.m.
Students will be tested in small grade level groups to allow appropriate distancing and monitoring. Please have each child bring 2 pencils for testing. Allow two hours for your child’s testing which includes breaks for them. If you feel that your child needs to have a snack for one of the breaks, please send it in an individually wrapped package. Students should bring a water bottle. During testing, parents may sit in the lunchroom and wait for their children.
Upon reviewing data from this testing event, Greenville County Schools will determine if other testing or information is necessary for your child to be identified as Gifted and Talented. The results of the April testing will be available by mid-May. You will be notified by email.
If your child has already taken an aptitude test within the past two years, or if their school administers this testing, it is not necessary for your child to participate. Those test results can be emailed to Jane Snyder at jsnyder@greenville.k12.sc.us.
