Why Blue Ridge Middle

WE ARE BR~One Community~Tiger Strong. At Blue Ridge Middle School, students don't just attend school, they become part of a community, known as Tiger Nation. We work to ensure students feel connected, supported, and known by the adults in our building. We provide meaningful, engaging learning experiences while maintaining high expectations for every student. We RISE: Relationships • Intentionality • Scholarship • Excellence. These principles guide how we learn, lead, and grow together. Through ROAR, interventions, small-group instruction, tutoring, and other supports, we respond when students need additional help. Students can challenge themselves through advanced coursework, Gifted and Talented opportunities, and courses that can lead to high school credit.

At Blue Ridge Middle School, we believe the best schools are built by strong communities. Ridge Nation represents the family of schools and community partners who surround our students with support from their first day of elementary school through graduation and beyond. Our Ridge Nation includes Mountain View Elementary, Skyland Elementary, Tigerville Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle School, and Blue Ridge High School, working together to create a seamless journey for students and families. What makes Ridge Nation special is the pride and shared commitment that bring us together.
It was never a question for us whether or not our son would attend Blue Ridge Middle School. Blue Ridge is about so much more than a school building. It’s community and family. Mrs. Taylor was my assistant principal during part of my time at Blue Ridge High School, and I now find my son sitting in some of the very same classrooms with many of the same teachers.
BRMS Parent
As a parent, I chose Blue Ridge Middle School for my children because it provides a well-rounded experience both academically and socially. I value having certified, dedicated teachers and a supportive administration that cares about students and families. Blue Ridge also offers many opportunities for students to get involved, including competitive sports, cheerleading, Friday night football games, pep rallies, dances, and marching band beginning in 8th grade.
