Come and cheer on our Falcons Volleyball Team as they play at home on Monday (9/21) against Northwood. Join us for 8th Grade Night on Wednesday (9/23), as our falcons play at home against League. Doors open at 5pm and the game starts at 5:30pm. On Wednesday, 8th Grade Athletes recongnitions will begin at 5:15pm. Admission is $5. Guests must follow the GCS Athletic Event Safety procedures and the Clear Bag Policy. Students must bring their school ID unless accompanied by an adult.
Makeup Picture Day is September 25th.

Testing begins are the start of school at 8:30am. Early dismissals are not permitted during testing.
The 8th Grade Washington DC trip informational meeting was held on Wednesday, September 2nd. Payments are made online this year through Jean's Tours. The link is on our website. Students with questions may contact Mr. Falls. The 2026-2027 8th Grade Washington trip is scheduled for March 3 - 6, 2027! Please review the attached Washington Trip flyer for details.

The Released Time Program starts September 24th and is held on Thursdays during a Related Arts class. Participating students will attend during their related arts class. [8th Gr: 3rd period; 7th Gr: 4th period; 6th Gr: 6th period. If you are enrolled attendance is mandatory. The front office will continue to accept applications throughout the year.
Wear your ID badge on your break-away lanyard (around your neck) everyday during school. Store your ID in your bookbag each day after school to ensure it returns back to school with you. Extra IDs may be purchased for $5 in the Media Center. Students without ID must get a Temporary ID. Upon requesting your 5th temporary ID, students will have an ID Badge printed and the $5 will be charged to their student account and need payment to clear the debt. See Student ID Badge Policy for full details.
Please make sure your school outfits follow the Dress Code.
Cell phones and other personal communication devices must be silenced and put away from 7:30am - 3:25pm. Students observed using their cell phone, smart watch, or personal electronic devices will be directed to lock up these items for the remainder of the day in a school locker.
All students this year have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost to families. Students may purchase alternative menu options or buy extra “a la carte” items.
Students who plan to eat breakfast and attend morning wellness must eat breakfast first. Students who are at morning wellness are not permitted to return to the cafeteria.
Car line procedures are posted on the website. Students are not allowed to be dropped off or picked up off campus. Students that are car riders are expected to have their ride on campus before 3:45pm. All car riders must be picked up by 4:00pm.
Families are encouraged to purchase your yearbooks now to receive the best deals of the school year. Basic yearbooks cost $40. Families can order from Jostens on our website.
Please remember, students planning to have an early dismissal should come to the front office upon arrival at school on the day of their dismissal and turn in a parent note. The student will receive a dismissal pass slip. The student will then show the teacher this slip as they arrive at the beginning of the class period in which they have the early dismissal. It is the student’s responsibility to watch the clock, remind the teacher and leave a few minutes early in order to be in the office at the time of the dismissal. Don’t have a note? Come to the office anyway to notify the office and get your dismissal pass. Dismissals that are not prearranged require staff to call into classrooms which interrupts classroom instruction and hinders focus and productivity.
