Red Ribbon Week
Our Sevier Counseling Department & PTA will host Red Ribbon Week from October 26th - 30th. This year’s theme is “Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free.” Red Ribbon Week's purpose is to educate students on drug prevention and the dangers of substance use, encouraging students to live drug free and make healthy choices. Students will participate in daily activities and are encouraged to participate in the daily dress themes. The dress code still applies. Please view the linked Red Ribbon Week Flyer for details. Students are encouraged to start getting their outfits ready Red Ribbon Week’s Character Day on October 30th. Students and staff are encouraged to dress like a literary character. 7th Grade Mixer Rescheduled
Our 7th Grade mixer is rescheduled for November 6th from 3:30–5:30 p.m. Permission forms will be available Friday, October 30th, and tickets will be on sale Wednesday through Friday (November 4 – 6) during lunch.
Veterans Day Ceremony & Guest Luncheon
We are looking forward to our 29th annual Veterans Day Ceremony scheduled for Friday, November 13, at 10am. We will honor all veterans and active military, beginning the day with speakers in each classroom starting at 8:30am. ALL members of the community are invited. We ask that our Falcon families spread the word to their family and friends who are veterans or active military to please join us as our honored guests, and to consider being a guest speaker in classrooms that morning before the ceremony. Special seating will be available for all our honored guests, and they are invited to convene in the Media Center following the ceremony for a luncheon hosted by our PTA.
Veterans who are interested in being guest speakers would arrive and check in to the front office by 8:30am where student ambassadors will escort them to our Media Center.
Help us with our Guest speaker planning. If you or someone you know is planning to attend as a guest speaker, please fill out the Guest Speaker Google form to help us prepare. Guest Speaker form or call the front office at 355-8200.

Volunteers and Items Needed: Our PTA will host a luncheon our veterans after the ceremony. We will need volunteers to provide needed items and to help on the day. Please look for a signup to be shared soon.
Wall of Honor Submissions: Our Wall of Honor banners will be on display in our main hallway. Sevier proudly displays a Wall of Honor that names people who have been identified by Sevier Middle School students, faculty, and friends as individuals who have served in any branch of the military at any time. The information has been accumulated since the first Return to Camp Sevier event, observed on November 11, 1996. We ask our Falcon families to submit their new Wall of Honor submissions by October 30th. An online submission form is available on our website, and paper copies are also available in the Media Center.

Students who have a Hispanic heritage are invited to help Mrs. Dickert with a special project celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month! Preseason Workouts
Preseason workouts are going on this month for Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. Students in 7th and 8th grade who are interested in participating in preseason workouts in October must complete all required forms in Arbiter before participating.Preseason Workouts Flyer
America 250 Celebration
In honor of America’s 250th Birthday, Greenville County Schools invites every student in grades Pre-K through 12 to participate in a districtwide celebration.
CHOOSE HOW YOU WANT TO EXPRESS YOUR IDEAS: Submit work in a category such as Poetry, Speech, Song, Dance, Artwork, Photography and Essay!

WINNERS WILL BE CHOSEN IN EACH CATEGORY AT EVERY SCHOOL! School-level winners will be entered into district-level contest.

8G Washington Trip
There is still space on the 8th Grade Washington DC trip. Payments are made online this year through Jean's Tours. The link is on the homepage of our website. Students with questions may contact Mr. Falls. The 2026-2027 8th Grade Washington trip is scheduled for March 3 - 6, 2027! Please review the attached Washington Trip flyer for details.

Release Time Program
The Released Time Program is held on Thursdays during a Related Arts class. Participating students will attend during their related arts class. [8th Gr: 3rd period; 7th Gr: 4th period; 6th Gr: 6th period. If you are enrolled attendance is mandatory. The front office will continue to accept applications throughout the year. See Mrs. Christensen in the front office with questions regarding enrollment or withdrawal from the program.
Wear your ID badge on your break-away lanyard (around your neck) everyday during school. Store your ID in your bookbag each day after school to ensure it returns back to school with you. Extra IDs may be purchased for $5 in the Media Center. Students without ID must get a Temporary ID. Upon requesting your 5th temporary ID, students will have an ID Badge printed and the $5 will be charged to their student account and need payment to clear the debt. See Student ID Badge Policy for full details. Please make sure your school outfits follow the Dress Code.
Cell phones and other personal communication devices must be silenced and put away from 7:30am - 3:25pm. Students observed using their cell phone, smart watch, or personal electronic devices will be directed to lock up these items for the remainder of the day in a school locker.
All students this year have the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost to families. Students may purchase alternative menu options or buy extra “a la carte” items.
Students who plan to eat breakfast and attend morning wellness must eat breakfast first. Students who are at morning wellness are not permitted to return to the cafeteria.
Car line procedures are posted on the website. Students are not allowed to be dropped off or picked up off campus. Students that are car riders are expected to have their ride on campus before 3:45pm. All car riders must be picked up by 4:00pm.
Families are encouraged to purchase your yearbooks now to receive the best deals of the school year. Basic yearbooks cost $40. Families can order from Jostens on our website. Sevier Yearbook Store
Early Dismissal Procedures
Please remember, students planning to have an early dismissal should come to the front office upon arrival at school on the day of their dismissal and turn in a parent note. The student will receive a dismissal pass slip. The student will then show the teacher this slip as they arrive at the beginning of the class period in which they have the early dismissal. It is the student’s responsibility to watch the clock, remind the teacher and leave a few minutes early in order to be in the office at the time of the dismissal. Don’t have a note? Come to the office anyway to notify the office and get your dismissal pass. Dismissals that are not prearranged require staff to call into classrooms which interrupts classroom instruction and hinders focus and productivity.
