ABOUT OAKVIEW
Oakview has once again been named a U.S. News and World Report Best Elementary Schools in South Carolina in 2024! We ranked #6 among 993 traditional public, private, and charter schools statewide! This is quite an accomplishment and reflects the hard work and commitment of this faculty and staff, our amazing students, and the support that we receive from parents and the community.
Oakview Elementary opened our doors in August 1995. Oakview was named for the 300-year old oak tree that stands at the front of the school. Two sisters, Margaret and Charlotte Greene, submitted the name that was chosen in a “Name the School” contest. The tree represents strength, growth and a strong foundation, just as Oakview Elementary helps students to grow and develop a strong academic foundation.
When you step through the doors of Oakview Elementary, you quickly realize it is a special place...
Understanding that developing great students goes deeper than academics, we often call attention to those who are "helpers" and who go above and beyond to bring a smile to a friend.
From our Buddy Benches to our Kindness Rock Path, morning news callouts and more this positive environment inspires students to be their best and strive for greatness. Our safe, healthy and nurturing environment develops students who are empathetic, respectful, resilient and act with integrity.
Our students come to us from 25 different countries with 19 languages spoken.
