Dear Lake Forest Families,
My name is Julie Cooke, and I am honored to serve as the principal of Lake Forest Elementary! It is a true privilege to lead such an outstanding school community—one known for academic excellence, strong partnerships, and unwavering parental support. The incredible work accomplished at Lake Forest is a direct reflection of your commitment to working alongside us, and I share your passion for ensuring every student thrives.
This is my 11th year as principal at Lake Forest and my 23rd year serving in Greenville County Schools. Prior to becoming a principal, I taught 3rd and 4th grades and served as an assistant principal at two different Greenville County schools. These experiences have shaped my belief in the importance of building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and supporting the whole child.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, shopping (especially for clothes and shoes 😊), and decorating and designing spaces. I’m also a proud Clemson and Mercer University fan!
I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from USC Upstate and my Master’s degree in School Leadership and Administration from Clemson University. I have been devoted to Greenville County Schools my entire life—as both a student and an educator. I am a proud product of Greenville County Schools, having attended Taylors Elementary, Hillcrest Middle, and Mauldin High School.
My husband, Greg, serves as the Director of Enoree Career Center, so we are a family deeply rooted in education. We have two daughters: Anna, a senior at Mauldin High School, and Reagan, a junior at Mercer University in Georgia.
As we begin another exciting school year, I look forward to partnering with you to ensure every child learns, grows, leads, and succeeds.
