Parent Note for Student Absences

We are introducing a new way to submit parent notes for this school year.  If you would like, please fill out the form below and your parent note will be electronically sent to our attendance clerk.  You can also submit parent notes and/or doctor's notes for absences by sending them in with your child, or faxing them to the school at 864-355-1044.  For more information on the attendance policy, please see the link below or contact the attendance clerk, Keyla Castillo Rojas, at 864-355-1005, or the Title One School Social Worker, Meghan Shroy, at 864-355-1047.

Please visit our school and teacher websites often, check our school marquee, and listen carefully to phone messages.  We also encourage you to attend our parent meetings - community cafe (coffee with the Principal), lunch and learns, and SIC meetings.

DRESS CODE FOR ALEXANDER ELEMENTARY

2022-2023

DRESS CODE POLICY

Purpose: 

To increase students’ focus on learning without distractions.

To increase students’ academic performance.

To increase the students’ sense of belonging to a community of learners.

To decrease the interruption to academics because of Dress Code infractions.

 SOLID COLORS ONLY

1.      PANTS/SLACK/CAPRIS:  Khaki, Blue or Black. Blue jeans may be worn but cannot contain holes.

2.      SKIRTS/SHORTS/SKORTS/JUMPERS: Khaki, blue (including denim with no holes), or black.

 Jumpers must be worn with a blouse or shirt.  The length of skirts and shorts must be at least mid-thigh.

3.      SHIRTS:  Any solid colored shirt may be worn.

Acceptable styles include:  Golf/polo shirts in short or long sleeve, oxford style button down collared shirt, t-shirts (no graphic).

4.      SWEATERS/SWEATSHIRTS/CARDIGANS:  Must be plain with NO GRAPHICS on them.  

5.      LEGGINGS: May not be worn as pants.

STUDENTS NOT IN DRESS CODE LISTED ABOVE WILL FOLLOW THESE ACTIONS:

1st  Violation      Call home

2nd Violation     Call Parents to bring appropriate clothing

3rd  Violation     Child will be sent home-attendance will count against student!

Propósito: 

Incrementar el enfoque de los estudiantes en el aprendizaje sin distracciones.
Incrementar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
Incrementar el sentido de pertenencia de los estudiantes a una comunidad de estudiantes.

Disminuir las interrupciones académicas por infracciones al código de vestimenta.

COLORES SOLIDOS  SOLAMENTE

1. PANTALONES/SLACK/CAPRIS: Khaki, Azul o Negro. Se pueden usar pantalones Jeans (de mezclilla), pero no pueden tener agujeros.

2. FALDAS/SHORTS/FALDAS/JUMPERS: Caqui, azul (incluyendo mezclilla sin agujeros) o negro.

 Los jumpers deben usarse con una blusa o camisa. El largo de faldas y shorts debe ser por lo menos hasta la mitad del muslo.

3. CAMISAS: Se puede usar cualquier camisa de color sólido.

Los estilos aceptables incluyen: camisas de golf/polo de manga corta o larga, camisa con cuello abotonado estilo oxford, camisetas (sin gráfico).

4. SUÉTERES/SUDADERAS/CARDIGANS: Deben ser sencillos SIN GRÁFICOS en ellos.

5. LEGGINGS: No se pueden usar como pantalones.

Los estudiantes que no estén vestidos como se indica más arriba se les implementarán estas acciones:

1er.  violación    Llamada teléfonica
2da. violación    Llamada a los padres para traer la ropa adecuada

3ra.  violación    El estudiante será enviado a casa.  La asistencia contará en contra del estudiante!
