NewTech@Mann learners and facilitators have agreed to observe these norms at all times, no matter where we are. We are PATS — true J. L. Mann Patriots!
Put trust in place
Always represent New Tech
Take care
Set sights on your future
PATS describes the way NewTech@Mann students will conduct themselves. The PATS norms mean:
We will cultivate and display trust by
fully participating in our project groups
completing our assigned roles in our project groups to the fullest extent
meeting deadlines on time
showing that others can depend on us by keeping our word – when we say something, we mean it
encouraging professional behavior in those around us by displaying it
displaying honesty in speech and deed – leaving others’ belongings alone
using our freedom responsibly and not take it for granted
We will cultivate and display responsibility by
being on time to class and meeting deadlines on time
using time wisely in and out of class
diligently completing our individual tasks
including everyone in the group, not leaving anyone out
keeping our school campus clean
taking care of our technology, not abusing it
We will cultivate and display respect by
staying positive, encouraging, and constructive in our comments
not saying things that are negative or hurtful to each other
listen when others are talking and not interrupt them
follow the Golden Rule by treating each other the way we want to be treated
being kind and considerate with each other
not taking things without permission
returning things that are borrowed promptly and in good condition
being open-minded to others’ ideas
using positive and professional vocabulary when we speak
using technology appropriately and observing “courtesy mode” when others need our attention
