Awards Day Dates: Parents will check-in at a table in the atrium and will need IDs ready.
Awards ceremonies will be held in the cafeteria and begin at 8:30 am.
At Mauldin Elementary, we believe every student has unique talents and strengths. Our upcoming Awards Day is a special event to recognize students who have excelled in academics throughout the school year. Please note that not all students will receive an award, as this ceremony specifically honors academic achievement. Families of students receiving an award will receive a letter and invitation to attend the celebration. We look forward to recognizing the hard work and accomplishments of our students!

SC Department of Education Parent Resources
As we begin planning for the 2025-2026 school year and developing classroom rosters, we want to provide parents/guardians with the opportunity to share important input that may assist us in making the best decisions regarding classroom placement for your child.
Each year, we invest considerable time and thoughtful consideration into matching every student at Mauldin Elementary with a teacher and classroom environment that supports their academic and social growth. Our classroom assignments reflect the diversity of our school community, taking into account factors such as gender, ethnicity, ability levels, and individual social and academic needs.
Additionally, our school administration carefully considers parental input regarding special circumstances or needs that should be factored into student placement decisions. If you believe your child has specific circumstances that should be considered, we welcome your input. Please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting a letter:
Acceptable Requests Include:
✔ Academic concerns or learning difficulties, including documented testing from a psychologist and/or doctor that may require special academic accommodations. (Required documentation must be filed in the student’s permanent record.)
✔ Documented medical needs or physical impairments that require accommodations for academic access. (Required documentation must be filed in the student’s permanent record or with the school nurse.)
✔ Social or emotional concerns that significantly impact the learning environment.
✔ Requests for a specific teaching style that best supports your child’s learning style.
Unacceptable Requests Include:
❌ Requests for specific teachers or to exclude specific teachers by name. Our school takes pride in hiring exceptional educators who are dedicated to student growth, so these requests will not be considered.
❌ Requests for an “experienced” or “first-year” teacher, as all our teachers are highly qualified to meet student needs.
❌ Requests for students to be placed in the same class as a friend, unless there is a specific educational or social need for special consideration.
Parent requests may be submitted to Principal Jennifer Dodds at jdodds@greenville.k12.sc.us or delivered to the school. All requests must be submitted by Friday, May 30, 2025. Letters will not be accepted after this date.
Final decisions on student placement rest with the school administration. Families will be notified of classroom placements in August 2025. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring a successful school year for all students!
