Applying to the CTE Innovation Center
The Innovation Center will be accepting rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students into 2 year programs for the 2024-2025 school year The application to attend the Innovation Center is available via the BACKPACK portal for students who wish to apply for enrollment.
*The application window will be in early 2024. Please see your counselor for the timeline.
HOW TO APPLY
Students Currently Attending a Greenville County School:
- Step 1: Complete application on the Backpack portal. Click on “Programs” once logged into Backpack. Students may select first and second choices of programs. Application must be completed by the deadline, to be considered in the first round of applications.
- Step 2: Students also need to request this course with their counselor at the time of registration in PowerSchool.
Students NOT attending a Greenville County School:
- Step 1: Complete application on Backpack portal. Please click on “first time here”, “sign up for an account” and follow the prompts to apply.
- Step 2: Complete the Student Information Form and submit a current transcript to the counselor (arsellers@greenville.k12.sc.us). Please note, current Greenville County School students will be given first priority.
Discipline, grades, and attendance will be reviewed for each applicant. Acceptance is not based on first come, first served. However, in the event that a course has more applicants than available seats, the date the student completed the application could be taken into consideration.
*There is a $35 program fee for a presentation kit that includes a polo-style shirt, t-shirt, and portfolio. These will be used for presentations to industry partners.
*Other program fees may apply for the 2024-2025 school year.
Backpack for Parents
A backpack for parents account provides parents, guardians, or contacts with a central place to sign in to do the following:
View their student's information including demographics, attendance, classes, grades, lunch balances, and test scores
Apply or register their student to Special Focus schools and programs (Fine Arts Center, Career Centers, etc.)
Receive alerts and notifications regarding their students
View their student's school and contact information
Manage parent and contact information for their students
