Dear Fisher MS Community Member,
On behalf of Greenville County Schools and the staff of Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School, I would like to welcome you to the Fisher Family!
From birth well into adulthood, our children’s time spent in the middle grades are some of the most developmentally significant years in their entire lifetime. These formative years require an inordinate amount of support, stimulation, and guidance, and are critical to the eventual person your child will become. As principal of Fisher MS, I invite each of you to join me in becoming stakeholders of a larger commitment to helping our students learn and grow.
Your child’s journey through Fisher Middle School represents one of the finest learning opportunities available. The facilities design, when coupled with instructional practices targeted for the 21st Century learner, makes for the optimum learning environment. The Firebird Staff will blend superlative innovation through our STEAM and project-based learning foundations with a rich exposure to related arts courses that move beyond the core instructional curriculum, complementing that with an affective social/emotional focus that tailors each child’s learning experience to meet his or her individual needs.
As the instructional leader of Fisher Middle School, I hope to build upon the foundational tenets of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics), which make our innovative approach to learning a one-of-a-kind experience for our entire learning community, and strengthen existing relationships with the families, businesses, higher learning institutions, educational supporters, and service providers. We will continue our efforts to impact our students’ continuous pathway of education through opportunities that create STEAM-literate graduates ready to accept the challenges of the curriculum at high school, advanced education, and the needs of tomorrow’s workforce.
Truly, there has never been a better time to be a Fisher Firebird, as no goal is ever too high for our students!
