Dear Welcome Families,
My name is Mr. Wallace Cobbs and I am very honored to be the principal of Welcome Elementary! I am very humbled to be a part of an outstanding school community. We continue to celebrate the many ways our Welcome Wolves demonstrate their P.A.W.S. in all aspects of life by being Prepared, Acting responsibly, Working as a team, and Showing respect.
I have been dedicated to public education in the Upstate community for 10 years. My teaching career began at Cherrydale Elementary School as a second grade teacher. I returned to Clemson, SC to teach fifth grade at Pendleton Elementary for three years. After five years as a classroom teacher, my administrative journey began in Anderson County School District 5. I served as an assistant principal for three years before returning to Greenville to become the assistant principal at Welcome in 2019.
As a native of Greenville County, I graduated from Mauldin High School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Master’s in School Leadership and Administration from Southern Wesleyan University. Currently, I am continuing my education by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership at Clemson University.
Thank you for entrusting Welcome Elementary with your child’s education. Feel free to contact me by email at wacobbs@greenville.k12.sc.us or by phone (864) 355-3910.
Sincerely,
Wallace Cobbs
