Kate Malone, District Ombudsman

Kate Malone brings 18 years of experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal to her position as the Assistant to the Superintendent and Ombudsman. She served Greenville County Schools as the principal of Riverside Middle School for nine years, and prior to that served in leadership roles in both Greenville and Spartanburg County schools. She is an excellent listener and communicator, evincing a calm, common-sense approach in highly challenging situations. She possesses a strong knowledge of District policies and procedures and is extremely well organized. Her approach to conflict resolution ensures that all parties feel heard and understand the reasoning for a decision. Ms. Malone holds a B.A. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in Special Education, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, all from Furman University, as well as an M.Ed. in School Leadership from Converse College.
