Free String Program

The NGU String Project will start a beginner class August 21, 2024, for any child in grades 3-5. The program offers free group class instruction on stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, and bass). We have a limited supply of stringed instruments we can loan students whose parents cannot afford to rent or purchase one. Students are required to purchase Essential Elements for Strings book one for their instrument.

The beginner class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm at Mountain View Elementary School.

LOCATION: Mountain View Elementary School | 6350 Mountain View Road | Taylors, SC 29687

CLASS SCHEDULE: 
Classes meet twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays.; Beginning Class | Monday and Wednesday | 5:00–6 p.m.

TUITION: Free;  Students are responsible for renting or bringing a suitable instrument and purchasing one music book. A few instruments, owned by the String Project, are available to borrow.

Lunch Visitors

Field Day Updates (May 13, 2024)

Throughout the day, we have been closely monitoring the weather forecasts for this week.  Due to the call for inclement weather, we will postpone our field day for K4, K5, 1st & 2nd grades from tomorrow until this Thursday, May 16th beginning at 11:00am.  This means we will have field day this Thursday for 3rd, 4th & 5th grades at 8:30am & field day for K4, K5, 1st & 2nd grades at 11:00am.  We will continue to monitor the weather & will let you know if any further updates will be necessary.  Sorry for any inconvenience. 

 


2024 Senior Clap Out

All Tigerville alumni who are graduating seniors of a Greenville County Schools high school, mark you calendars! We want to honor our graduating seniors with a clap out on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Bring your cap and gowns and gather in the media center starting at 12:45 pm. You will need to bring your ID and check in through the office. The clap out will begin at 1 pm. If you plan to attend, please complete the RSVP form by Friday, May 3, 2024.  Pleaser remember that this is for alumni of Tigerville Elementary School who are graduating from a GCS school. | 2024 Senior Clap Out RSVP


Athletic Events Safety Requirements

In light of recent events at athletic venues across the country, Greenville County Schools has updated its safety requirements for athletic events, effective immediately.

For all Greenville County Schools athletic events, the following requirements are in place to ensure the safety of all attendees:

Rent the Rock!

We are excited to announce that the Tigerville Spirit Rock is available for rent to celebrate your child and support Tigerville Elementary School.   The Tigerville Spirit Rock is now available for sign ups.  The Rock is a perfect way to send one of Tigerville’s students or staff a “Happy Birthday”.  The Rock is also a Tigerville fundraiser, so all funds generated will be used to pay for school programs & improvements. The cost is $10 per day & you will have the Rock for 24 hours (5pm-5pm).  There will be no refunds for weather or school closure.  Please see the Tigerville Spirit Rock for complete details regarding payment.  Have fun & be creative!  Thank you for supporting Tigerville Elementary School!  | Tigerville Spirit Rock Guidelines
