Field Day

field day imageGet ready for Field Day!   Each grade level has a whole day dedicated for this fun event.  Each homeroom is a team and competes for top ranking.  Each grade level homeroom has their own team color field day shirt.  Students who did not purchase a Field Day T-shirt must wear the same color shirt as their homeroom.  Field Day dates are: May 15 for 6th grade, May 16 for 7th grade, and May 17 for 8th grade.  Students should wear sunscreen and bring  a towel and money for concessions.  Concessions will range $1 - $2, most items are $2 each.  In the case of inclement weather, Field Day will be held inside.  This is a closed event, and not open to guests or spectators.
FIELD DAY REQUIRMENTS:  All debts must be clear (charged IDs, textbooks, library books, Chromebook & charger, and any other school debts) in order to participate.   Any student with 2 or more incidents that resulted in ISS or any incident that resulted in OSS, as of Monday, April 17th, will not be allowed to participate in field day.

Awards Days

We are looking forward to our Awards Day Ceremonies with 8th grade on Monday (May 20), 7th Grade on Tuesday (May 21), and 6th Grade on Wednesday (May 22).  All Awards Ceremonies will begin at 9am in the Gym.  Guests will park in the back parking lot and enter through the Gym entrance doors.  Doors will open at 8:30am.  Guests will check in at the Gym entrance doors with their driver’s license or photo ID.  Any parent or guardian interested in checking out their student after the ceremony will complete the paperwork to do so at the check-in table.  Any student that intends to get checked out by someone other than their parent or guardian will need to bring a written parent note to school.  The note should provide the parent’s contact number and signature, and state the name of the person that has permission to check out their student.


Parents - Pick Up Student Medications

medicine imageAs our school year comes to an end, parents are responsible for picking up their student's prescription and nonprescription medication.  These may be picked up from Nurse Snipes between the hours of 8:00am- 3:30pm on school days prior to May 22nd.   The school  is not allowed to keep any type of medicine after the final day of school, whether prescription or non-prescription.  Any remaining medications will be destroyed at 1pm on May 22nd.  MEDICATIONS CANNOT BE PICKED UP BY A STUDENT.

Boys Basketball Summer Workouts

Attention rising 7th and 8th graders:  If you are interested in participating in boys basketball summer workouts, please fill out the Google Form on Mr. Soemer's website. You will need a physical to be able to participate this summer. If you need a physical form, email Mr. Soemer or visit his room.

What Do I Need To Participate?

  1. Completed Athletic Physical form
  2. All documents completed through Student Central
  • Medical History Form
  • Picture of Athletic Physical 
  • Parent's Permission and Acknowledgement of Risk
  • Concussion Statement

When Do I Need To Turn My Stuff In?

All paperwork needs to be done by May 22nd in order for you to be able to participate. If paperwork is not done by May 22nd, you will not be allowed to workout with us this summer.

When Are The Workouts?

The current dates for summer workouts are:

  • June 4th + 6th (2-4 pm)
  • June 18th + 20th (2-4 pm)
  • July 9th + 11th (2-4 pm)
  • July 16th + 18th (2-4 pm)

Required Tdap Vaccination for Rising 7th Graders

Attention 6th Graders & Parents, DHEC requires all rising 7th graders to have a Tdap ( tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccination upon beginning in August. Any rising 7th grader that does not have the Tdap vaccination (or are otherwise exempt) will be excluded from school until proof of vaccination is provided in the form of DHEC Immunization Record.  Please plan ahead, and schedule this vaccination as soon as possible and turn in proof of the vaccination on the SC DHEC Immunization record to the front office before the end of this school year.  Families that wait until summer to try and schedule an appointment may have a difficult time scheduling as this vaccination is required by all SC schools and the demand is very high during the summer.  Please call school RN Amy Snipes with questions at 355-8207.

Sevier Middle School Summer School Information 2024

 Potential Summer School Letters are going home with Quarter 3 report cards on March 28, 2024.

Summer School Dates:  June 3-27, 2024.  Monday's - Thursday's 8:30am-12:30am

Registration Deadline:  May 29, 2024.

All students interested in taking a Virtual Summer School class must read the information in the link below.  It has ALL the details about each virtual summer school program.

Detailed Virtual Summer School Information (Must Read)

GCVSP registration is from April 1- May 17.  The Google Form must be completed by May 17th.  Once Mrs. Storm sees your google application she will EMAIL you and your parent information about payment within 1 week.  Payment is due in my School Bucks by May 29, 2024.

Upcoming Volleyball Training

volleyball imageAttention 6th and 7th graders!  Volleyball training will be held in March and May. Parents should fill out the google form in order to receive information regarding in-school training, outside training programs, and tryouts for the 2024 season. 

To participate in March training, players must have a sports physical dated after April 1, 2023
