Breakfast & Lunch Menus

We have reached the LAST DAYS OF SCHOOL!!  Monday, May 20,  is our last full day of school. Tuesday and Wednesday (May 21 and May 22 ) are district designated half days with middle school dismissal at 12:45pm.  Breakfast and lunch will be served those days, and busses will run.    Wednesday is our last day of school.  Finals grades are available in Backpack.  Printed copies with be available upon request on May 27th or there after.  Students with outstanding school debts will need to pay their debts.

Last Call for library books, charged ID fines, Chromebooks, and chargers!  Turn in your remaining items and pay their debts!

Awards Days are this week with 8th Grade on Monday, May 20th; 7th Grade on Tuesday, May 21st; and 6th Grade on Wednesday, May 22nd.  All Awards Ceremonies are schedule to commence at 9am in the Gym.  Guests will park in the back lot and enter through the gym doors and check in with their driver's license or photo ID.  Students that dress up for this special occasion should dress modestly.  No strapless, spaghetti strap, open back, low cut, or cropped tops allowed.  Shorts, shirts, and dresses should reach at least mid thigh or lower.

Have you checked for your belongings on the Lost & Found table yet??  Please make sure to check the table as soon as possible.  Once school dismisses on May 22nd, you will not have the opportunity, because all remaining lost and found items will be donated on the last day of school.

Parents are responsible for picking up their student's prescription and nonprescription medication.  These may be picked up from Nurse Snipes between the hours of 8:00am- 3:30pm on school days prior to May 22nd.   The school  is not allowed to keep any type of medicine after the final day of school, whether prescription or non-prescription.  Any remaining medications will be destroyed at 1pm on May 22nd.  MEDICATIONS CANNOT BE PICKED UP BY A STUDENT.

Attention 6th Graders & Parents:  DHEC requires all rising 7th graders to have a Tdap ( tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccination upon beginning in August. Any rising 7th grader that does not have the Tdap vaccination (or are otherwise exempt) will be excluded from school until proof of vaccination is provided in the form of DHEC Immunization Record. Please call school RN Amy Snipes with questions 355-8207. Please work on getting your vaccination now, as this is an very in demand vaccine and appointments are hard to receive toward the beginning of school.

The final day of the Extended Day Program is Monday, May 20th, our last full day of school. 

Students are reminded to still follow the dress code.  (Spanish version of dress code)   Shorts and skirts should reach at least mid-thigh or lower when standing, walking, and doing daily activities. Running shorts are not permitted. Off-the-shoulder shirts and shirts showing midriff are also not permitted.  Crewneck t-shirts are allowed. 

Rising 7th and 8th graders interested in boys basketball summer workouts should complete the online google form found on Mr. Soemer’s website.  More information is available on the Sevier homepage. Pre-season volleyball training is in progress. New and returning players must have an updated physical dated after April 1st to participate. Please reach out to Coach Varner with questions. 

Students planning to have an early dismissal should come to the front office upon arrival at school on the day of their dismissal and turn in a parent note stating the time and reason for the dismissal.  If someone other than a parent or legal guardian is picking up the student, the person’s name should be specified on the note.  The student will receive a dismissal slip as their pass out of class.  FORGOT YOUR NOTE? COME TO THE OFFICE ANYWAY TO SCHEDULE THE DISMISSAL.   Walk-in dismissals will be released at class change.

6th and 7th graders interested in trying out for the 2024 Volleyball team are reminded to have parents fill out the attached google form in order to receive information regarding in-school training, outside training programs, and tryouts for the 2024 season.   Following GCS Sports Regulations, to participate in May training, players must have a sports physical dated after April 1, 2024.  Volleyball Interest form link:  https://forms.gle/7FDotKawzMRJ11GP9

Cell phones and other personal communication devices must be silenced and put away from 7:30am - 3:25pm.  Students observed using their cell phone, smart watch, or personal electronic devices will be directed to lock up these items for the remainder of the day in a school locker.
