Early K5 and First Grade Registration to Be Held December 5-9
The first registration window for students who plan to attend kindergarten or first grade in Greenville County Schools next year (2023-24) will be held December 5-9, 2022. Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2023 must enroll in public or private kindergarten unless the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver (see Kindergarten Non-Attendance Form). Any child who will be six years old on or before September 1, 2023 must enroll in first grade. (Please note that students who are currently enrolled in a GCS 4K or 5K program do not need to register.) How to register
League Academy’s Mary Leslie Anderson Named SC Middle Level Principal of the Year
The South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) has named Mary Leslie Anderson the 2023 South Carolina Middle Level Principal of the Year. Mrs. Anderson is the principal at League Academy. Three outstanding South Carolina principals each year -- one each at the elementary, middle, and high school level -- are selected for this honor. Students, staff and Mrs. Anderson’s family gathered for the surprise announcement, made by Beth Phibbs, Executive Director SCASA.
2022 Hall of Fame Inductees Honored
The Greenville County Schools Hall of Fame Gala was held Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The Hall of Fame honors men and women who have graduated from or worked at Greenville County Schools and have made substantial or significant contributions at the local, regional, national or international levels in areas such as academia and education, arts, athletics, business, media, public service, philanthropy, medicine, military or science. The induction event is hosted by the Greenville County Schools Foundation.

Superintendent's Report
In honor of American Education Week, Dr. Royster invited the 2022-23 Greenville County Schools Teacher of the Year, Wendy Frans, to speak. Mrs. Frans talked about her "why" for teaching, which is her students. She talked about supporting other teachers to help them find and keep their "why".
Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
The Board of Trustees accepted the FY 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Year Ended June 30, 2022 as presented.
GCS Foundation Liaison Report – Mrs. Leventis-Wells commended the district on the recent GCS Hall of Fame induction event. All of those inducted were very excited about the celebration.
Monthly Finance Report – The report was presented as information. Dr. Royster highlighted the strong financial health of the district.
