AnnouncementsWeekly Update 1.23
Good Afternoon, League Academy! I hope you have all had a nice weekend! I, for one, am looking forward to a “normal” week at school! I would love to share some of the good things that are going on at League with you!
We have had a number of students make region and state orchestra and well as region and all-county band! We are so proud of the work that Mr. McBride, Mrs. Leonard, and Mrs. Walser do with our students; and we could not be luckier to have these folks on staff.
Last week our basketball teams had a stellar week playing both Sevier and Lakeview. We are very proud of our athletes and their coaches.
Last Tuesday we kicked off our Extended Day Program, and although we have started small, we are excited to grow it. The EDP runs everyday from right after school at 3:30 until 6:00. We want to get as many students as possible in our program. Please look for information with your student’s report card on Wednesday. There is also information on our website and in the front office.
As we move into this week, we are beginning to think about the 2017-18 school year. Monday night we will have our annual Curriculum and Registration Night for all grade levels including rising 6th graders. Please join us for our programs beginning at 6:30.
Parents of students on team 8-6: Communications classes are having poetry slams during their class periods in the media center on Friday, January 27, and we would love for parents to come and hear their children perform. Please contact Mrs. Blankenship or Mrs. Monson if you have questions.
I would also like to remind everyone that we have really gotten the carline moving in the afternoons. I would like to strongly encourage you, if you don’t already, to pick up your students in the carline rather than on the streets surrounding League. This plea is for the safety of your students and for the flow of traffic. All students should have received a car number through advisory before winter break. If you need a replacement, please contact the office.
We continue to work together to strengthen our school community. Thank you for your contribution to our team.
"Unity is strength. . . when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved."
Have a great week.
