The Professional Development Office of Greenville County Schools is committed to raising student achievement by supporting and facilitating high quality staff development that improves the performance of all district employees.
Over 4000 workshop and seminar sessions are provided to GCS staff members on a yearly basis. Employees may view a list of these offerings and register to attend them on the portal. To get to this information, login to the Employee Portal and click on the Professional Development link.

The Office of Graduate Studies at Furman appreciates the opportunity to work with Greenville County teachers who seek to further their education through a M.A. or Ed.S degree program. For teachers who begin a new master’s or educational specialist program in fall 2016, we are happy to offer the first fall course at ½ the regular tuition rate.
Furman offers seven M.A. programs and two Ed.S. degree programs.
In addition, we are currently taking applications for a new Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) program. This degree program is aimed toward educators, who are leaders and scholars, and who have already earned a master’s degree but are now seeking licensure as a principal. This educational specialist degree allows teachers to gain School Administration licensure by completing 11 three-hour courses. The T. Walter Brashier Graduate School of North Greenville University is passionate about assisting you in meeting your educational and career goals. NGU offers Masters degrees in Education, Music Education, and Arts in Teaching. You are also able to complete SC Read to Succeed courses with us if you desire. Grand Canyon University offers continuing education Master degrees and single courses for certified educators in a variety of areas including Special education, TESOL, Curriculum and Instruction (reading and technology), and Administration.
NEW: GCU is announcing new cohort classes. They have selected a number of popular programs to offer a major tuition discount on classes if students begin classes at a particular date. This will offer an opportunity for teachers to save money on classes and begin with a larger support group.

Southern Wesleyan University
SWU offers students the opportunity to work toward their Administration and Supervision degree and we also work with teachers that desire to obtain their degree in Classroom Leadership. Students that desire to obtain additional special education endorsements, gifted and talented, and Read to Succeed may do so through our online electives.
