NOTICES/REQUESTS

2023 Strategic Plan Overview - Earlier this month the Greenville County Schools Board of Trustees approved the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan.  Many, if not most of you, contributed to this plan by completing surveys, attending community forums, and/or serving on the Strategic Planning Stakeholder Team.  We deeply appreciate your participation in this important work that will guide and direct the focus and intentionality of our work over the next five years.  As the result of seven months of effort in which we received and analyzed feedback, drafted and revised the plan’s framework, and set and adapted the performance goals, strategies, and action, we believe the finalized 2018-2023 Strategic Plan accurately reflects the values and expectations of our community’s internal and external stakeholders.  In the coming months you will receive more detailed information on this plan, but in the meantime, here is an overview of the Strategic Plan’s framework.  This document reflects the district’s revised vision, mission, belief statements, and strategic goal areas, as well as priorities around which the plan was built.

HEALTH AND WELLNESSS

June is Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month – Hit the Farmer’s Markets! June is when even the most veggie averse can find something to love at a Farmer’s Market. It’s a great month to nudge your eating habits toward a more colorful, crisper and less-processed diet. If you load your breakfast plate with two servings of fruit, you’re well on your way to getting your Five A Day servings of fruits and vegetables.

Go For a Morning Walk - With the sun rising so early these days, it's not surprising that many of us find ourselves waking up before the alarm. Make the most of those extra minutes by going for a quick power walk. Even 10 or 15 minutes will help wake you up, get your metabolism going and burn a few extra pre-breakfast calories. If you're up for it, turn your morning walk into a run.
