All Teachers - Upcoming GCS Annual Teacher Survey - The annual 2017-2018 GCS Teacher Survey is coming up soon. Thank you in advance for participating in this important process. As you know, this survey is designed to develop comprehensive information necessary for the district’s continuous improvement efforts. Be looking for an e-mail from Human Resources on Tuesday, January 16th. This e-mail will have the internet link to the survey. The survey opens that day and will remain active until 4 p.m. on Friday, January 26th. This year’s survey has been shortened and should only take about 10 minutes to complete. And similar to last year, questions and inquiries about personal demographics have been removed. Please be assured that individual responses are anonymous and confidential. The results are always in a generic summarized format. There are sections of the survey that permit written comments. While we encourage your comments, you should avoid making identifying comments unless you wish to self-identify. Your principal may decide to schedule a group session for the purpose of completing the survey. If so, the principal, Assistant Principal, or IC/CRT will not attend the session. The Principal may ask a teacher to coordinate the group session if one is scheduled.
The survey must be completed in one session, therefore, please plan to participate at a time you are least likely to be interrupted. The survey may be completed at school or home from any device with an internet connection. You will receive the survey link from GCS Human Resources which is an internal school district email source identified as: mkilpatrick@greenville.k12.sc.us

HEALTH AND WELLNESSS
Wear a pedometer. New research suggests that routinely wearing a pedometer encourages people to walk about an extra mile each day, lose weight, and lower their blood pressure. Aim for at least 30 minutes of brisk walking and a total of 10,000 steps per day.
Don't focus on dieting. Focus on eating. If you're hungry, you're more likely to overeat, especially in the evening. Instead, of sacrificing all day and gorging later, it's better to eat enough during the day to avoid hunger pangs and uncontrolled eating at night. Eat every four hours or so, and make sure to eat a "second lunch" -- think of it as another meal rather than a snack -- in the mid-afternoon to keep your energy up and make you less hungry in the evening.
