All K-8 Educators
Pets in the Classroom – K-8 educators are eligible to apply for grants for small pets or aquariums for the classroom. Applicants must use the grant to teach responsible pet care and cannot be used for research or experiments. Types of pets available vary depending on which vendor’s grant is selected. California Certified Organic Farmers Foundation – Twenty grants of $1,000 are available to K-8 educators to support projects that integrate organic agriculture into classroom instruction. Free & Reduced rate of 50% or higher is preferred for the applicant school(s). To access the online application or for project ideas, click here. Kinder Morgan Foundation Grants - The foundation offers grants between $1,000 and $5,000 for K-12 programs focused on science, math, art, and music. These may include academic programs such as tutoring, arts education, and environmental education. Click here to review the application requirements and process. Deadline: 10th of Every Month. Academic Enrichment Grants - The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers grants of up to $10,000 to develop in-class and extra-curricular K-12 programs that improve student learning. Programs should nurture the intellectual, artistic, and creative abilities of children from low-income homes. To access the online application, applicants must register for an account at this link. Makeup Days for Greenville County Schools - Greenville County public school students will make up the two school days missed in January on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17. If needed, the district has a third makeup day built into the calendar on Monday, April 17. State law requires school districts to include three makeup days in their calendar. HEALTH AND WELLNESSS
Exercise While on Vacation: Include an activity like hiking or bike riding when you go on vacation.
Distracted Eating: Eat only at the kitchen table. Don't drive, watch television or talk on the phone while you eat. This helps you focus on how much you are eating, which can prevent overeating.
