Recycling Education Grants – Grants of up to $2,500 are available from DHEC for the development of K-12 hands-on projects that teach the importance of source reduction and recycling. Target Field Trip Grants – Grants of up to $700 are available to provide K-12 students with opportunities to explore the world beyond the classroom through field trips. Managed Account Service “Test Drive”
- The South Carolina Deferred Compensation Program is offering employees an exciting opportunity to take a free test drive of their investment advisory service. Employees who enroll in the Managed Account Service between September 1 and November 30, 2016 will have the fee waived for the first 90 days. PEBA Pre-Retirement Seminars – PEBA has scheduled two Get Set for Retirement seminars to provide employees who are within five years of retirement eligibility with an overview of the benefits they can expect to receive from the PEBA-administered retirement plan. Presenters from PEBA retirement and insurance, the SC Deferred Compensation Program, and the Social Security Administration will provide information. Day of Discovery – Discovery Education is offering Day of Discovery events free of charge to all GCS educators. These full-day professional learning events help teachers and administrators learn more about integrating digital content into their curriculum provide opportunities for participants to share strategies that are working, and to make connections.
