REMINDER: 2016 Employee of the Year Awards (Deadline to Submit Nominations is Wednesday, April 6) - We are seeking outstanding employees to be nominated for the 2016 Employee of the Year Awards sponsored by Greenville Federal Credit Union. Each Employee of the Year receives a crystal award and $500 and his/her school/location receives $500 to share the honor with staff. Click HERE for entry form, guidelines, and additional information. Note – Nomination forms must be signed by the employee’s supervisor. The seven nomination categories are: School Administrator, Assistant School Administrator, School Support Employee, Operations Employee, District Professional Employee, District Support Employee, and Emerging Teacher (two levels). Recertification (12 CEUs) Opportunity: Recognizing at Risk Students (RARS) in the Classroom (June 7 & 8, 8:30 – 4:30.) Audience: All Teachers and School Personnel. Contact: Rosa Gonzalez, Lead Social Worker, 355-2079.
Course Description: Workshop will address child welfare issues that affect students' ability to make the most of their educational experience. The objective is to train teachers and other school personnel to recognize behaviors that put students at risk and provide information for constructive responses. Some of the topics that will be presented are: identifying child abuse and neglect in special needs children, the effects of drugs on adolescents and human trafficking of children in Greenville County. Middle School Summer School 2016 — Teachers certified in any of the four core content areas (math, science, social studies and English) are encouraged to apply for available middle school summer school teaching positions. Please send resumes to cwade@greenville.k12.sc.us. Technology proficiency is a must. Summer school dates are June 14 —July 19 (closed the week of July 4—7) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Summer school labs are located at Bryson Middle and League Academy. RETIRING EMPLOYEES
REMINDER: 2016 Retirement Dinner – The 2016 Retirement Dinner will be held at the TD Convention Center on Thursday, May 26, at 6:30 p.m. Please note requirements listed below for employees to be included in the dinner:
· Employees must meet retirement guidelines to be included in this year’s event.
· A Termination of Employment Form must be submitted by the employee’s supervisor to Human Resources immediately.
· A Retirement Banquet Information Sheet must be completed by the retiring employees who meet the guidelines and returned to Human Resources per the instructions on the form.
Employees who come off TERI or retire and continue to work for GCS will be recognized at the banquet in the year when they end their employment with the district unless they have already been invited to the dinner in a previous year. Retirement Dinner invitations will be mailed to retirees in early May. Audience: Retiring Employees. 1095-C Form Update, Affordable Care Act (ACA) - 1095-C forms for eligible employees will be mailed to their address on file the week of March 28, 2016. Employees that elected self-service delivery will also receive a mailed form.
