Where in the World is Montague? |
Our theme this year at Blythe is "Around the World in 180
days!" Montague the Bear will give clues each morning
from a French or Spanish country. Students will try to
guess which country Montague is visiting that week, and will
drop their answers in a special box in the Media Center.
A winner will be drawn each Friday.

August 31, 2009 -
This is the country where many
beautiful green stones, called
Emeralds, come from. It is a
Spanish speaking country that
has two coasts, has part of the
Amazon Rainforest, consists of
part of the Andes Mountains, and
is famous for coffee. The soil
is just right for growing coffee
beans.
Tuesday,
September 1, 2009 -
The main
crops of this country are
sugarcane, potatoes, plantains,
rice, bananas, cassavas, corn,
coffee, and flowers. Out of
every 100 people, 95 are Roman
Catholic. If you visit this
country, you need Pesos instead
of dollars.
Wednesday, September 2, 2009
- Recently, they discovered of
10 amphibian species in this
country that were potentially
new to science, including an
orange-legged rain frog, three
poison frogs, and three
transparent "glass" frogs. It
has one of the most diverse
amphibian communities in the
world, with 754 species
currently recorded.
Thursday, September 3, 2009 -
A
60-million-years-old fossil
snake was found in this
country. They think it was as
tall as Mr. Jeff’s waist, 42.7
feet long (longer than a bus),
and 2,500 pounds. This is the
biggest snake the world has ever
seen. Can you imagine?
Friday,
September 4, 2009 -
The
capital of this city of this
country is Bogata, and it is
located just above the equator.
Also, It has a beautiful flag
with three wide stripes of
sunshine yellow, royal blue, and
candy apple red.
